My email of enquiry through the Turner Plus website was promptly followed up by a telephone call from Phil Turner who fixed a date for our first meeting. I had already canvassed a few other building companies to handle the renovation of my 1950s house, but was immediately impressed by Phil’s enthusiasm for my project and my vision. I wanted to bring the house into the 21st century without losing the character of the original house.
I had worked for 6 months with my architect to develop my design brief into workable drawings and after that first meeting with Phil I was convinced that Turner Plus could execute those plans and deliver the result I was aiming to achieve.
After working with Phil through all the drawings, we had locked in a procurement list, then he presented me with the final quotation and building schedule, which were not only extremely detailed but very easy to follow. There was also a contingency allowance as renovations are often open to surprises along the way.
We encountered a structural problem in our first week, but Phil identified a solution with little impact on the budget. And this approach continued throughout the project as more historical issues were discovered. None of these factors impacted on the final design as Phil workshopped each feature with me and we made decisions together. This is a company whose approach to the project and client is totally collaborative.
The Turner Plus builders were an energetic team of committed professionals who took pride in their work and respected the involvement of the client in the process. Phil updated me regularly on the team’s progress and sought feedback at every stage of the project.
This was not my first building project but it was certainly the most satisfying for me. Phil delivered exactly what the project documents had clearly set out and I was an extremely satisfied customer who would gladly use the services of Turner Plus again.
